The building will serve two different functions: a cafe and a bar. Since the two is very different in operational point of view, we have to differentiate both functions in two levels. The brunch cafe down below, and the bar upstairs.
As the brunch cafe is more active during the day, we develop the overall space to feel lighter and brighter. The spacious indoor space is packed with proper dining tables of four and communal tables. While the semi-outdoor space is filled with bar seating area facing to the street. Alongside the eastern side, we create a more casual side-to-side seating area to face the paddy field view.
For the bar, we want it to be more casual. It should be where people can spend their time and having a good time. We play a bit with the roof to shape up the space. On a lower area underneath the angled roof, the skylight helps to boost up the shallow height.
